Pattern grading (resize sizes)
Inches or % scale, quick size jumps, visual bars, stitch/row repeats, and a copyable summary.
Width → stitches (bust, hip, brim…)
Use real finished inches, or switch to Percent if you only know “about 10% bigger”—same math either way.
Many women's charts step the bust about +2″ per size—tweak to match your brand or schematic.
Length → rows (body, sleeve, crown…)
Inches for hem-to-underarm type math, or percent for “5% longer torso” without measuring tape.

Linear grading assumes your stitch and row gauge match the original pattern when you work the new size—same yarn weight, hook, and tension. Ease, drape, lace openings, and cables won't scale perfectly; use this as a starting point and always check fit on the body or a schematic.
